Who Am I?

If we don’t know each other, it’s only proper that I briefly introduce myself (read full bio here)

My name is Christian Wendelboe Bundgaard, I’m a Danish pianist, composer, multimedia producer, and soon to be BA in Educational Science.

I was born in 1994 and raised in a suburb of Copenhagen, and it was here that I developed my early passion for American roots music through the record collections of my parents.

Over the last decade, I have performed across Denmark and Europe, both as a solo artist and alongside visiting musicians from New Orleans. My debut album, Two Generations (2016), was a collaboration with pianist Hans Knudsen and was nominated for a Danish Music Award for Best Blues Album. I 2022, I released my debut album under my musical alter ego, Chris Copen, “I Got Hipped”. The album received critical acclaim in both Danish and international blues communities.

Since I was 17 years old, I’ve had multiple extended residencies in New Orleans—including a pivotal three-month stay in Tremé in 2017—here I studied the city’s music, culture, and history firsthand. Much of my creative work is shaped by an ethnographic curiosity about musical heritage, African American cultural traditions, and the roots of jazz and blues.

But music is everything. In addition to my musical career, I hold a degree in Multimedia Design from Copenhagen Business Academy, and I have worked extensively in visual design, video production, podcasting, and digital storytelling for cultural institutions and public organizations. Due to my big interest in culture, society, and education, Im currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Science at Aarhus University, with plans to complete a Master’s in Pedagogical Anthropology by 2028.

Well, now that was a little bit about me.

Once again, welcome to my blog.

My Autumn in Greenland – As This Chapter Closes

Home / Vælg Sprog / Choose Language My Autumn in Greenland – As This Chapter Closes The snow has settled like a quiet blanket over Nuuk, and the darkness of winter has slowly but inexorably claimed the daylight hours. The sun struggles to rise above the mountains – a battle it loses a little more with each passing day. Yet even here, light finds its way. At the beginning of the year’s final month, the Christmas spirit has arrived. Fairy

Somewhere Between Adventure and Everyday Life

Home / Vælg Sprog / Choose Language Somewhere Between Adventure and Everyday Life This past Monday marked my first full month here in Nuuk. A month filled with experiences and time in nature—yet also a month where everyday life has begun to truly take hold. My daily routines now include classes, heavy reading, and, of course, attending to my other projects. As some of you may have already noticed, September was also the month when my friend, journalist, and anthropologist Mie

Nuuk – studentlife and new adventures

Home / Vælg Sprog / Choose Language Nuuk – studentlifeand new adventures A little over a week ago, I arrived in Nuuk and began a new chapter in my life. The first week has been spent settling into the city, getting used to my new surroundings, and adjusting to the shared flat I’ve moved into in Block 15. Both in the flat and at Ilisimatusarfik University, I’ve been welcomed by warm and friendly people. Upon landing on the 25th of
